DMG MORI to allocate additional investment into the Ulyanovsk region
The agreement was signed by the head of the region Sergey Morozov and the Chairman of the Executive Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT Christian Thönes within the framework of the activities of the Ulyanovsk delegation in Japan.
The document includes cooperation in the sphere of tool-making industry development by allocating additional investments during the following 10 years. According to the experts, this agreement is a logical continuation of the Special investment contract (SPIC) signed at the International Investment Forum "Sochi-2016". At that time the signing took place in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
"Today the Ulyanovsk region is a trusted partner of Japan. The DMG MORI plant is the first machine-tool enterprise constructed in CIS countries for the last 25 years. Considering mentality of the country and how careful it selects partners, we can assume that we chose the right vector of development in order to create a favorable investment climate", - Sergey Morozov emphasized.
The Center of Cluster Development of the Ulyanovsk Region, which represents the regional Government, and OOO Ulyanovsk Machine Tools, which represents DMG MORI, will coordinate interaction of the parties under this agreement. "The total cost of the project is estimated at about five billion rubles. The project itself addresses the major national objective: import substitution of the innovative imported products. Implementation of this agreement will give impetus to development of Russian project offices and engineering centers", - the Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region Alexander Smekalin explained.
According to the Director General of the Center of Cluster Development of the Ulyanovsk Region Alexander Yakovlev, implementation of the agreement provides localization of production of machine tool components, establishment of modern machine workshops and an engineering center, as well as expansion of cooperation with higher education institutions and training of employees.
